Student Parking and Transportation
Parking fees are non-refundable and can only be paid at the campus where you will be attending classes. Parking fees and regulations vary by location.

AVERY POINT

  • A parking decal is required of all students taking classes at the Avery Point campus.
  • If you have a parking decal from the 2006-07 academic year, you are not required to reregister your car for May Term or Summer Sessions.
  • If you have not purchased a 2006-07 decal, you are required to register your car at the Cashier’s Office, Room 118, Branford House. The parking fee is $10.
  • Students must park in the designated student parking areas. Those who park elsewhere will receive parking tickets from the City of Groton.

HARTFORD

  • A parking decal and car registration are required for all students attending classes at the Hartford campus.
  • The parking fee for the campus is $10 for May Term and Summer Sessions, and is payable at the Cashier’s Office in the Undergraduate Building.
  • At the Hartford campus, students may only park in the student parking lot on Trout Brook Drive.
  • Contact the Cashier’s Office, at 860-570-9020, for more information.

STAMFORD

  • A parking decal is required of students who will be driving to and parking at the Stamford campus. The parking garage is located adjacent to the campus on Washington Boulevard . Students may park in the parking garage, in areas designated “Student Parking.”
  • There is a $10 fee for students who have not paid for parking during the academic year. The fee is payable directly to the Stamford campus at registration, and covers parking for May Term and Summer Sessions. Decals are obtained from the Campus Security Office, on the third floor of the parking garage. There is a $2 fee for each additional decal.
  • Bus stops are convenient to the campus and the Stamford Metronorth Station is within walking distance or a short bus or taxi ride. For schedule information, please check the CT Transit or Metronorth sites.

STORRS

  • Students planning to park at the Storrs campus must possess a valid University of Connecticut parking decal.
  • If you have a current decal for the 2006-07 school year, expiring 8/31/07, you do not need to purchase a new permit for May Term and Summer Sessions.
  • If you do not currently hold a parking permit, one can be purchased for May Term and Summer Sessions for a $10 fee.
  • With a valid permit, you may park in any student lot while attending May Term and Summer Sessions classes. Illegally parked or unregistered cars are subject to ticketing and/or towing.
  • Parking permits and information are available at the Parking Services office, 3 North Hillside Road, Storrs, CT 06269,
    860-486-4930, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to
    4:30 p.m. Photo ID and the vehicle registration are required to register a vehicle.
  • Contact the Department of Parking and Transportation Services, at 860-486-4930, for more transit information, or visit the Department of Parking and Transportation Services site.

TORRINGTON

  • New matriculating and non-matriculating students will need to purchase a parking decal, if planning to park at the campus.
  • Parking decals may be purchased for $20 in the Business Office.
  • A large, well-lit lot is available, along with extensive handicapped parking and other facilities.
  • Contact the Torrington campus, at 860-626-6800, for further information on parking services.

WATERBURY

  • Students may park in the campus garage, except where restricted.
  • If you have a current decal for the 2006-2008 academic year and expiring 8/31/07, you do not need to purchase a new permit.
  • If you are a new student wishing to purchase a parking permit, you may do so in the business Office, located on the second floor of the Student Services Suite.  Any non-matriculating student will need to purchase a decal for a nonrefundable fee
    of $20.
