CPCU 510 – Foundations of Risk Management, Insurance and Professionalism
This course covers the fundamentals of risk management and insurance. It analyzes the various provisions of the insurance contract in detail. The course also includes a study of insurance professionalism and the CPCU Code of Professional Ethics. It is a common starting point for students beginning the CPCU program.

CPCU 510 – Exam Review
If you are self studying or taking an online class and would like just a review session, this 4 hour exam review course can be signed up for independently from the prep class. (This exam review is already included for students enrolled in the CPCU 510 class above.)

CPCU 520 – Insurance Operations, Regulation, and Statutory Accounting
The student will study insurance operations, regulation of insurance, insurance marketing, underwriting property insurance, underwriting liability insurance, ratemaking, property claim adjusting, liability claim adjusting, reinsurance, insurer financial statements, insurer financial management, and insurer business strategy and global operations.

CPCU 520 – Exam Review
If you are self studying or taking an online class and would like just a review session, this 4 hour exam review course can be signed up for independently from the prep class. (This exam review is already included for students enrolled in the CPCU 520 class above.)

CPCU 530 – The Legal Environment of Insurance
This course emphasizes contract and tort law, while covering other legal topics including: product and professional liability, real and intellectual property law, principal and agent, employment law, business entities, corporate management, consumer protection, environmental, and international law. All are covered in the context of risk management and insurance. Waiver: there is a waiver for CPCU 530 given to those with a Law degree such as JD.

CPCU 540 – Finance for Risk Management and Insurance Professionals

This course covers corporate finance concepts, focusing on financial concepts applicable to insurers. It discusses financial statements, sources of additional financial and non-financial information, financial statement analysis, working capital management, time value of money, discounted cash flow valuation, bonds and stocks, capital investment decisions, and mergers and acquisition.

There is a waiver for CPCU 540 given to those with an MBA degree.

CPCU 560 – Financial Services Institutions
This course covers the following topics: the federal reserve, money markets, bond and stock markets, derivative securities markets, commercial banks, thrift institutions and finance companies, insurance companies, securities firms and investment banks, mutual funds, pension funds, types of risks incurred by financial institutions and liquidity risk.
