Certificate ProgramsCCS is working with academic departments across the University to administer and deliver post baccalaureate Blended Learning Certificate programs that combine online classes and immersion residencies. These cohort based certificate programs:

Non-degree fees will be charged in lieu of tuition. Fees received by CCS will be applied to direct expenses, with net proceeds split between academic departments and the Center on a negotiated basis. The Academic Partnerships and Special Programs unit can also assist UConn academic departments with the development of blended learning Master’s Degrees. The blended learning, cohort based design has been extremely successful in the Master of Professional Studies program in Homeland Security Leadership (MPS/HSL) offered by CCS. More than half of the working professionals in this graduate level program are from beyond the borders of Connecticut. Students enrolled in the MPS/HSL program live in Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Ohio, Florida, Maryland, Alaska, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Vermont, Washington D.C. and Washington State. Students can choose from a wide array of non-credit certificate programs at UConn. A certificate program is designed to give students real world practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge. Many non-credit certificate programs can be completed in one semester though some allow students to spread their courses over a longer period of time. Professional Education certificate programs emphasize applied learning and some include an externship offering students a "hands-on" approach to learning.
