If you want to:

  • advance in your career,
  • change your professional path,
  • increase your earning power,
  • achieve personal satisfaction, or
  • prepare for admission to graduate school,

UConn's Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree Program (BPS) or the Bachelor of General Studies Degree Program (BGS) may be exactly what you are looking for. The Center for Continuing Studies at the University of Connecticut offers these degree programs designed especially for professional adults.

For admission into the program, you must have earned 60 credits or an associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

You will work closely with an academic advisor to design a program of study that meets your individual talents and career and personal interests.

Classes are offered days, evenings and Saturdays at all six UConn campuses throughout the state: Avery Point in Groton, Greater Hartford, Stamford, Storrs, Torrington, and Waterbury. In addition, many students take advantage of online courses and are given the needed academic and technical support to be successful.

What are the benefits of a University of Connecticut degree?

  • A distinguished degree from the top-rated public institution in New England
  • Guaranteed admission to recent Connecticut Community College graduates
  • A credit-transfer friendly program that maximizes the credits earned at previous degree-granting regionally accredited institutions
  • A degree that can lead to your desired career
