Dr. Dean M. Hanink grew up in Michigan and received his PhD in Geography from the University of Georgia. He is currently a professor of geography at the University of Connecticut. He has been at the University since 1981. He has a special interest in economic geography, including the international economy and its implications for economic development. He has published a number of articles on international trade and two books: The International Economy and Economic Geography, both published by Wiley.
