Dr. Charles Reese		 I'm Dr. Chuck Reese, Professor of Occupational Safety and Health. I've worked in Safety and Health for 25 years. My background includes work for Federal Government Agencies such as Mine Safety and Health Administration, the National Institution for Occupational Safety and Health and the Environmental Protection Agency. I also have experience of a variety of industries such as manufacturing, construction and mining. My publications include Safety and Health books on construction, material handling and accident prevention techniques.

The five courses I developed at the University of Connecticut have become the core of the university's safety and health initiative. These courses are Safety and Health Management, Industrial Hygiene, Accident Prevention Techniques, Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, and Ergonomics. This current course, Ergonomics, is the second to be offered online.

It is my objective that you will understand an expanded concept of ergonomics, gain a basic knowledge of the existing regulations, and develop a foundational understanding of occupational ergonomic issues and ways to deal with them. I look forward to working with you as you progress through this course.
