BGS and MPS students, and all
students enrolled in online courses through the Center for Continuing Studies may take advantage of free, online tutoring in a variety of
selected subjects including writing, math, sciences, and accounting. During Spring 2008, additional subjects are calculus, research methods, and statistics.
You do not need to
take an online course in the particular subject area to take advantage of
the online tutoring. For example, you may find a need to brush up on some
math if you are taking one of our online courses in information
technology. And writing tutoring may be helpful for those of you in one of
our courses that have required papers as assignments. You can use the
tutoring service once, or as many times as needed.
The new and improved
platform is easier to use and you can log in immediately to set up your
own student account through: http://etutoring.org/. You will have access to all online tutors in the program. Writing tutors
are available on an asynchronous basis which means you can submit a paper
for tutoring assistance at any time and the next available tutor will
provide assistance to you. Tutors in all other subjects are available
through a synchronous format, on a predetermined schedule. Tutoring
coverage is also provided during selected evening and weekend hours. You will be able to view the tutor schedule once you log into the system.
During Spring 2008 tutoring will be available Monday, January 28 through Friday, May 9, 2008.
We are participating
in this online tutoring program in conjunction with the Connecticut
Distance Learning Consortium (CTDLC).
