Credit Registration Information
Please check under each program for information on admission and registration requirements. All our online courses carry 3 credits unless otherwise indicated. Course numbers 5000 and above represent graduate level courses.
We encourage you to register early for an online course since many of our online courses fill early. You will also need to purchase your textbook(s) in advance. If you are a new student at UConn, it takes several days for the University to issue you an ID which gives you access to the online course.
When registering, you will need to give the class number and section number for the course, along with the department and course numbers. This information is available from the Schedule of Online Courses.
See UConn's Academic calendar for semester start and end dates, holidays, and exam periods.
Non-Degree Registration
UConn's online credit courses are available on a non-degree basis for undergraduate and graduate credit. Non-degree status is for those who are not matriculated UConn students.
See our Non-Degree Student Page for additional information, including individual course fees.
BGS, MPS and other UCONN Matriculated Student Registration
BGS, MPS, and other UConn matriculated students can self-register through Peoplesoft.
When searching for online courses in PeopleSoft, select Campus: Storrs, and Instructional Format: WWW.
Prospective MPS Students
If you have applied for admission to the Master of Professional Studies degree program, but have not yet been officially admitted, you may register for a course as a non-degree student. See above instructions for information on how to register as a Non-Degree Student. Please consult with your faculty advisor prior to registering to ensure that the course will apply towards your degree.
Special Permission to Register for Credit Courses
All special permission requests should be emailed to the following contact. Include your Peoplesoft ID number and reason for taking the course.
Non-Credit Registration
The Center also offers non-credit courses which do not carry academic credit. For more information about our non-credit programs, please see the individual program pages (link opens in new window).
