The State of Connecticut requires all matriculating, degree
seeking students attending the university, whether full-time
or part-time, who were born after 12/31/56 to present a valid
certificate of immunization covering measles and rubella. The
certificate will be required before permission to register
is granted.
Non-degree students receiving special permission
to attend on a full-time basis who were born after 12/31/56
are also subject to this state requirement.
In addition, the
University of Connecticut requires all degree seeking and all
non-degree students registered for 12 or more credits at Storrs
(regardless of age) to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Questionnaire. Students who are enrolled in online courses only are exempt
from the mandatory immunization requirements.
All students, regardless of registration
status, are strongly urged to obtain measles and rubella immunizations
and to retain documentation. In the event of an outbreak, proof
of immunization may be required in order to attend classes. |
