Degree Opportunities

Master of Professional Studies (MPS)
The Master of Professional Studies (MPS) program allows working adults to earn an online degree that is flexible enough to meet evolving multidisciplinary workforce needs. The MPS offers four fields of study - Human Resource Management, Humanitarian Services Administration, Occupational Safety and Health Management, and Homeland Security Leadership. These were developed according to workforce and market demand.

  • Individual courses in some of these fields of study are currently being offered online and can later be applied towards the MPS degree. For course information, see the schedule of classes for online courses.
  • For more information about this program or if you are interested in registering for the MPS degree, please contact Peter Diplock, Ph.D 860-486-6850 Peter.Diplock@uconn.edu.

Bachelor of General Studies (BGS)
The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) program allows adults with an associate’s degree or 60 or more credits to enter UConn as a junior and finish their degree at a pace that allows them to balance career, family and education. UConn ’s partnership with the Connecticut Community Colleges system guarantees state community college graduates (with a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher) admission into the program.

Other Undergraduate Degree Programs

In addition to the Bachelor of General Studies program, the University of Connecticut offers admission to other undergraduate degree programs. An undergraduate student can complete the freshman and sophomore years for most majors at the regional campuses. Selected majors can be completed at the regional campuses, although most require completion at the Storrs campus. Contact the University's Admissions Office for more information.
