Fields of Study
The four fields of study in the Master of Professional Studies are: 
  • Homeland Security Leadership (HSL)
    The Homeland Security Leadership field of study prepares graduates to provide strategic leadership in the field of homeland security. Emphasis is on understanding the complexities of the homeland security arena in terms of policy, strategy, and organizational development issues. This degree prepares graduates to work in field operative and administrative homeland security positions in law enforcement, fire service, emergency management, corporate security, transportation security, and public health preparedness.

    The Master of Professional Studies with a field of study in Homeland Security Leadership is a cohort-based program.
    At the present time, the courses are only open to students who are matriculated in the homeland security field of study.


  • Human Resource Management (HRM)
    The Human Resource Management field of study features two different tracks – Labor Relations and Personnel. Graduates will be qualified for professional HRM positions in industry, labor organizations and government.

  • Humanitarian Services Administration (HSA)
    The Humanitarian Services Administration field of study prepares graduates to work in organizations involved in humanitarian response and development initiatives. Graduates will be qualified to work in disaster relief and sustainability areas.
