Non-Teaching PositionsProgram Manager (UCP VII) The University of Connecticut’s Center for Continuing Studies invites applications for Program Manager (UCP 7). The incumbent will report to the Principle Investigator of the Emergency Management in Higher Education (EMHE) training grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The Program Manager will provide program administration and management for grant funded activities in the area of emergency management for higher education. Duties include the day to day operation and administration of grant activities; planning, organizing and administration of the training programs and curriculum; conducting workshops, seminars and tabletop exercises; collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; interacting with local, state and federal agencies and working directly with the University of Connecticut's Division of Public and Environmental Safety and subject matter experts. Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree and one to two years of related professional experience or a Bachelor’s degree in an academic discipline related to emergency planning and preparedness, with three to five years of related professional experience. Extensive knowledge of emergency preparedness and NIMS. A proven ability to apply a range of concepts, techniques and best practices to carry out technical program objectives. Experience developing and/or enhancing emergency management plans. Good administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, administrators and grant partner agencies in the community. This position is a 12-month, end-date position, renewable based on the availability of funding and performance.
