This summer explore exciting art classes designed for children, families, and adults.
Children and Families
Family Clay
For 6+ years with parent
In this parent/child hands-on workshop, adults and children will work on individual projects and receive guidance suitable to their skill level. We will explore wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Additional family members may participate for an added fee.

Adults
Summer Pottery
Taught by Teri Herel, class projects will vary from simple forms to creating complex ceramic pieces which are functional or sculptural. Texture and surface techniques will be incorporated. Class will culminate in a sawdust firing. Students have access to studio hours to practice skills.

60-minute lessons are available and must be scheduled by calling the CSA office at 860-486-1073.

Monitored Pottery Studio Hours
Monitored access to the Community School of the Arts Pottery Studio is available for currrent students on a regular schedule. This system ensures a safe working environment. Call for summer studio hours.
Monitors have access to the School facilities for up to ten hours per week in exchange for monitor responsibilities. Persons interested in becoming monitors should contact Heather Bunnell at heather.bunnell@uconn.edu or call 860-486-2604. |
