School Vacation Camps
 Please join us February 18 - 22 and
April 14 - 18, 2008 for our Vacation Camps. We offer both Arts Camps and Musical Theater Camps, so there is something for everyone! Plan now to spend your school vacation at the Community School in a variety of exciting activities.
Arts Camps
Days will be filled with painting and drawing, pottery, sculpture, mask making and so much more.
Camps are available for students 6-12 years old. Students can participate in the hands-on arts camp for either half or whole days. February Arts Camp: Schedule #AV 1011; April Arts Camp: Schedule #AV 1021
Fee: $65 per day for whole day (9:00 am-4:00 pm) or
$32.50 per day for half day (9:00 am-12:00 pm or 1:00-4:00 pm)
Musical Theater Camps
Students age 9-13 will work closely with experienced instructor Lisa Foss to explore musical theater production. Through songs, movement, scripted scenes, interactive writing, costume and set creation, students will enjoy a week rich with learning and creativity.
This spring (April 14-18), students will be staging Aesop's Fables, but with music, humor and many twists. Students will recreate such famous fables as" "The Tortoise and the Hare," "The Lion and the Mouse," and "The Dog and the Bone." Working together, we will even write some of our own skits for the final presentation of Aesop's Fables A-Z!
Lisa Foss has been performing, directing and choreographing in Connecticut for many years. She holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Carnegie Mellon University. She has directed productions for the Spirit of Broadway Theater (Seussical, A Grand Night for Singing), Hartford Children's Theater (You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Once on This Island), Three Rivers Community College (Still Life with Iris, Caught in the Act), Lisbon Central School (Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock, The Ever After Show) and Saint Bernard High School (Looking Glass Land, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).
Musical Theater camps are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. Students must register for the full week. February Musical Theater Camp: Schedule #AM 1041; April Musical Theater Camp: Schedule #AM 1042
Fee: $315 per week (Daily, 9:00 am-4:00 pm)
Don't wait to register, as camps fill up quickly. There is a 10% early bird discount for registrations received before January 15 for February Vacation Arts and before March 15 or April Vacation Arts.
