School Vacation Programs
Please join us during February and April for our School Vacation Programs, where a variety of exciting activities are available for students from ages 6-15.
Vacation Arts (ages 6-12)
Plan now to spend your school vacation at the Community School in a variety of exciting activities. Days will be filled with painting and drawing, sculpture, mask making and so much more!
- The Fauvists: The Colorful Worlds of Matisse, Derain and de Vlaminck
February 15-19: daily--whole or half day, Schedule # AV1011
April 12-16 (ages 6-10 only): full week only--whole or half day, Schedule # AV1022
- The Expressionists: Capturing Emotion with Kandinsky, Marc and Munch
April 19-23: daily--whole or half day, Schedule # AV1021
Fees:
February 15-19 and April 19-23: Whole day (9:00 am-4:00 pm) $65/day, Half Day (9:00 am-12:00 pm or 1:00-4:00 pm) $32.50/day
April 12-16: Whole Day (9:00 am-4:00 pm) $325/week, Half Day (9:00 am-12:00 pm or 1:00-4:00 pm) $165/week
Giant Puppets and the Very Made Up Story (ages 10-15)
Offered February 16-20. Students will work with Anne Cubberly to collectively create giant puppets, write a script, cast themselves, the puppets and stage a dynamic performance for their families. This student-driven production combines the art of giant puppet making, creative use of recycled material, puppetry and theater arts. Bring your imagination. $360. Schedule # AM1041
Wheel Workshop (ages 10-15)
Offered April 19-23. Explore clay through a variety of forming, glazing and decorative techniques. Days will be split between wheel work and hand-building techniques. Students will create both functional (cups, bowls) and sculptural forms. $360 (includes materials). Schedule # AV1031
