Immunization

The State of Connecticut requires all matriculating, degree seeking students attending the university, whether full-time or part-time, who were born after 12/31/56 to present a valid certificate of immunization covering measles and rubella. The certificate will be required before permission to register is granted.

Non-degree students receiving special permission to attend on a full-time basis who were born after 12/31/56 are also subject to this state requirement.

In addition, the University of Connecticut requires all degree seeking and all non-degree students registered for 12 or more credits at Storrs (regardless of age) to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Questionnaire. Students who are enrolled in online courses only are exempt from the mandatory immunization requirements.

All students, regardless of registration status, are strongly urged to obtain measles and rubella immunizations and to retain documentation. In the event of an outbreak, proof of immunization may be required in order to attend classes.

HuskyMail Student Email & NetID
As a registered non-degree student, you will be assigned a Net ID and a HuskyMail email account. It is important that you familiarize yourself with both, as they are essential tools for communications from the University. For your convenience, a technology tutorial is provided.
  • NetID
A NetID is your unique computer account that allows access to HuskyMail (the official UConn student email system), WebCT (UConn’s online course delivery tool) and your student records.
  • HuskyMail/Student Email
Your HuskyMail email account is where the University sends all official UConn correspondence. It is your responsibility to check it often. You will need to use your NetID to access this account.
  • Technology Tutorial
Please use the New Student Technology Tutorial at the following web site: http://techtraining.uconn.edu to learn how to use your email account, how to access your student records, and how to use your NetID.

University Libraries

The University of Connecticut Libraries form the largest public research collection in the state. The collection contains over 2.5 million volumes, 9,000 currently received print periodicals, over 25,000 electronic journals, 2.8 million units of microform, 35,000 reference sources, 180,000 maps and an array of electronic information sources, many of which contain the full text of research journals, monographs, and historic documents.

All the UConn Libraries share a single catalog and form a single collection; each library unit serves as a full gateway to the entire collection. The Libraries’ networked resources, including many electronic databases, thousands of e-journals, e-books, and numerous full text reference tools, are available to all members of the University community via the Internet.

Each of the University’s six campuses maintains a library dedicated to serving its programs:
