Fees Explained/Additional Fees
 
Infrastructure Maintenance Fee
All students at all locations, regardless of status, will be charged a University Infrastructure Maintenance Fee. This fee, paid each fall and spring semester, is based on the number of credits and level of courses for which a student is registered in that semester. See Fees.
Undergraduate Courses
0-5 credits   $50
6-11 credits  $100

Check Service Charge  
A charge of $25 is assessed for a check not honored by a bank for any reason.
Late Registration Fee
Any registration completed after published deadlines will have a non-refundable late fee of $50 applied.
Enrollment Fee
Non-refundable enrollment fees are charged for these terms, and are payable once for Winter Intersession and once for May Term/Summer Sessions. 
Non-degree/visiting students $65
BGS, MPS and other UConn degree students $45
Storrs Additional Fees
Student Transit Fee
  All students taking courses at the Storrs campus are charged a Student Transit Fee of $35 per semester. This fee supports the campus shuttle bus service.
Student Union Building Fee (BGS & MPS only)
  A $13 Student Union Building fee is charged to Storrs students only, once per semester.
Activity Fee
  This $16 per session is charged for Storrs campus Summer Sessions only, and is refundable if a student drops all Storrs classes for a particular Summer Session before that session begins. The fee applies to Summer Session 1 and/or Summer Session 2 only; there is no activity fee in any intensive session. There is no activity fee for May Term.
BGS Related Fees
BGS Application and Evaluation Fee
  A $95 application and evaluation fee is due upon submission of your application to a BGS advisor.
BGS Continuous Registration Fee
  BGS Continuous Registration, GS 200, indicates that no class is being taken at any institution, including UConn during a particular fall or spring semester, and requires a Continuous Registration Fee of $45 per semester, plus Infrastructure Fee of $48.
Co-op Bookstore Fee
  There is a one-time UConn Co-op bookstore membership fee of $25, which is refunded after graduation or official withdrawal from the University.
Student Transit Fee
  All students taking courses at the Storrs campus are charged a Student Transit Fee of $35 per semester. This fee supports the campus shuttle bus service.
Student Union Building Fee (BGS & MPS only)
  A $13 Student Union Building fee is charged to Storrs students only, once per semester.
Deposit Account
  A $50 deposit account must be maintained at all times. This entitles students to student ID card validated each semester. The deposit is refunded, minus any fines, service charges, breakage charges, etc., once a student graduates or officially withdraws from the University.
MPS Related Fees
Graduate Matriculation Fee
 

The fees listed under the Graduate School do not apply to the MPS program. Fees for matriculated students (regardless of residency) enrolled in MPS online courses are as follows:

  • $1,758 for a three-credit course
  • $3,473 for a six-credit course

Important: All fee bills are sent directly to your UConn email address (Husky Mail) electronically at the end of each registration day. The invoice due date will be included on your electronic fee bill. You will not receive a paper bill in the mail.

Graduate Late payment Fee

  A late fee of $6 per day, $60 maximum is charged for registrations and/or fee payments after the due date.
